Dennis Tauscher Obituary
AUBURNDALE - Dennis J. Tauscher, 69, died on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Denny was born in Marshfield, WI on March 15, 1944. to George and Dora (Haasl) Tauscher. He graduated from Auburndale High School and was a member of the 1960 State Baseball Championship team. Denny married Dianne Doebereiner on Dec. 31, 1966, in Blenker, WI. Together they owned and operated Tauscher's D&D Dairy Farms for 32 years. He took great pride in maintaining his land and equipment. Denny also enjoyed a 20 year career in media; working for the Marshfield News-Herald as a sportswriter, covering high school athletics, his weekly Packer Report on WDLB, and Beyond the Game on Marshfield cable TV.
Coaching was another passion of Denny's and he spent over 15 years coaching youth baseball and basketball and football for several years as well. He loved reading to his grandkids, playing Sheepshead, gardening, talking sports and especially spending time with his family.
Denny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dianne; a daughter, Chris Tauscher, of Marshfield, WI; three sons, Craig (Angie) Tauscher and their children Anna and Sophia, Rochester, MN, Mark (Sarah) Tauscher and their children Maxwell and Eleanor, Sun Prairie, WI, and Patrick (Lacey) Tauscher and their child Kaeden, Rochester, MN; 10 siblings, Anna Rudy, Norbert Tauscher, Rita (Robert) Tauscher, Gladys Kobishop, Laurene (Jerry) Braunsky, Mary Tauscher, Agnes (Fritz) Link, Father Donald Tauscher, Doris Tauscher, Leon (Beth) Tauscher; and many nieces and nephews.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents, George and Dora; a brother, Ray; two brother-in-laws, Fred Rudy and Harlan Kobishop, sister-in-law, Dorothy Tauscher; and an infant son, David.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 5854 Main Street in Auburndale. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. A private family burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the TRIFECTA Foundation or American Family Children's Hospital.

I've had the opportunity to know Denny in the many years I've worked at Lambeau Field. Denny knew I grew up in Stratford and we'd talk about Marawood conference and central WI sports at almost every Packer game. It was always a pleasure working and visiting with him. I'll miss our conversations.

My deepest sympathy to all of you during this difficult time. I got to know Denny during the 12 years I covered the Packers for WBEV Radio in Beaver Dam. I got to visit with Denny in the press box before each game. I was also fortunate to be able to sit next to him in press row at Super Bowl 45. It was a treat to watch that game with him, and we also attended the post-game press conference together, and sat together on the bus ride back to the media hotel. What a memorable night, and I was lucky to share it with him. Denny was a class act and will be greatly missed. I will keep him and all of you in my prayers.

I will always remember our once-a-year interviews at training camp, our conversations about the Packers' prospects for that season, your warm welcome every time I saw you in the press box and your amazing work ethic. I never had enough time for you, but you always had all the time in the world for me. My sympathy to the Tauscher family. I had the opportunity to ride with Denny to alot of Packer games. Denny was fun and insightful often providing us with amusing antidotes about numerous sports people. I was on one of his TV shows that I still fondly view. When my father passed away in July 2013, Denny came to the funeral home to pay his condolences. I will surely miss Denny!
