Billy Handy Obituary
Billy Gene Handy, Sr., 88, of Fieldale, VA passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. He was born on January 17, 1935, in Martinsville, VA to the late William Hassell Handy. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Fulp Handy; stepmother, Geneva Sink Handy; and his granddaughter, Jennifer Horsley.
Mr. Handy owned Handy's Café and loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his daughter, Glenda Watkins (Glen Watkins, predeceased) of Patrick Springs, VA; son, Billy Handy, Jr. of Collinsville, VA; three grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and his dog, Jenky.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor David Deisher officiating. Friends are welcome to visit at Billy's home in Fieldale after the graveside service.
Billy was able to pass peacefully due to the loving care he received from Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home and Mountain Valley Hospice. The family would like to thank them for all the graciousness he was given.

We loved to fish THE POND.He caught some nice bass. We trout fished a lot. He really enjoyed the outdoors. I miss him. God speed Bill

I am sorry to see Billy passed away. He worked in the boiler room at Stanley Furniture and was a hard worker.
