Joseph Ike Maxey, 68, of Martinsville, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was born on March 2, 1953, to the late Edward Ray Maxey and Hazel Hall Maxey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Anglin; and brother, Grady Maxey.
Mr. Maxey worked as an electrician and plumber.
He is survived by his wife, Trina Lewis Maxey of the residence; daughters, Bretinie Morelli of Penhook, Va., and Cheynne Maxey of Roanoke, Va.; sons, Justin Maxey of Patrick County and Ellis Bates of Covington, Va.; sisters, Sharon Davis, Debbie Bates, Brenda Ratcliff, and Linda Maxey, all of Martinsville, Va.; brothers, Lannie Maxey, Junior Maxey, and Timmy Maxey, all of Martinsville, Va.; and grandchildren, Blayke Bailey, Brooke Bailey, Riley Maxey, Andrew Maxey, and Levi Bates.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5 until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel.
