Linda Smith Cuthbertson

November 5, 1949 - January 23, 2022

Linda Smith Cuthbertson, 72, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. She was born on November 5, 1949, in Maxton, North Carolina, to Harry P. Smith and Myrtle Louise Parnell Smith.

She grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she was a graduate of Great Bridge High School. She was also named Miss Great Bridge and Miss Chesapeake. After graduating from Buchanan Vocational College with a LPN degree, she worked at several health facilities including Memorial Hospital, Pioneer Hospital, and Blue Ridge Rehab. She also worked for Dr. Jesneck for a number of years, where she retired. Linda enjoyed music, singing, playing the piano, and her grandkids. Her most important job was supporting her pastor. She and David served churches throughout Virginia including Tidewater, Grundy, Charlottesville, and for 30 years here at Hosepasture Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 53 years, John David Cuthbertson; sons, Bryan Keith Cuthbertson (Amy) and Christopher David Cuthbertson (Teresa); brother, Ronald P. Smith (Karen); and grandchildren, Alyson, Abby, Anna Claire, Justin, Lauren, and Samuel.

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Horsepasture Christian Church with the Ministers Kyle Thompson and Lunmel Hardison officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 until 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to Mid Atlantic Christian University Cuthbertson Scholarship, c/o Horsepasture Christian Church Mission Fund, 1146 Horsepasture Price Road, Ridgeway, VA 24148.
