December 17, 1947 - October 22, 2021
Nancy Ann Lewis Keaton, 73, of Collinsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Sovah Health – Martinsville. She was born in Franklin County on December 17, 1947 to the late Richard Lewis and the late Nannie May Holley Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Otis Reed Keaton; a daughter, Lynn Carol Merriman; son-in-law, Jay Hall; four brothers, three sisters and her doggie hearts.
Nancy loved being a babysitter for family, friends and neighbors. During her 60 years of babysitting, she had looked after hundreds of kids including her brothers and sisters children having loved and treated them all like her own. She never met a stranger as they became her family the moment she met them. She loved everyone she came in contact with and considered her neighbors, Billy and Kathy Toufas as family. They were always there for her when she needed something fixed and even cooked for each other.
As she became disabled, her nephew, Earl Shelton became her caretaker for over 15 years and became more of a son than a nephew. She is still loved and will be missed by many people she helped over the years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Ann Hall; grandchildren, James Sawyers, Amanda Stout, Lesli Hall Minter, Kaytlyn Tyler Hall Franklin and Haley Madison Hall; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Addison, Jayden, Izzy, Gavin, Emma, Amelia, Aiden and Wyatt; grandson-in-law, Josh Minter; several nieces and nephews and her special doggie heart, Taco.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
Due to the governor's requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting the funeral home.
