Richard Irvin Pike

Richard Irvin Pike, 74, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial. He was born on July 30, 1946, in Henry County, to the late Edgar Pike and Mary Bishop Pike.

He was a SGT in the United States Army. Mr. Pike was a jack of all trades, never met a stranger, loved helping others and was the best grandpa in the world. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Boyd Pike; sisters, Linda Shoemaker, Margaret Hernandez, Susan Donovant, Mary Wilson, and Nannie Cruise; brother, Ernie Shephard; grandchild, Cody Moore; and great-grandchild, Elaina Moore.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Blackberry Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the cemetery at Blackberry Baptist Church with full military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

I'm so sorry to hear about Richard a few minutes ago. He was a one of a kind, there will never be another one like him. He could make you laugh when no one elsexpuld. R. i.P. Richard Pike and know I Love you. Kelly was my Sis and I know you 2 have a lot of catching up to do. Rest in peace my friend, till we meet again.
