Thelma Marie Robertson Gray

Thelma Marie Robertson Gray, 92, of Bassett, previously from Rural Retreat, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Sovah Health - Martinsville. She was born in Grayson County, on February 13, 1929, to the late Clyde F. Robertson and the late Laura Vaught Robertson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George W. Gray; daughter, Donna Gray Dalton; sisters, Willi Evans and Mildred Robertson; and brother, Jack Robertson.

Thelma was a dedicated employee for Stanley Furniture for 40 years. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Becky Fargis (Glenn); son, David Gray (Melissa); brother, Bobby Robertson; sisters, Frances Brown and Linda Nye (Rollie); grandsons, Chris Whitlow (Amy), Daniel Fargis (Katey) and Chase Watson; granddaughter, Jessica Dalton, along with several well-loved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 10 until 11 a.m. in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. with Glenn Fargis officiating. Burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat at 2 p.m.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Mike and Debbie Merriman and Artie and Deborah Mayer for providing assistance in caring for Thelma. The family also appreciates all who have reached out to them during this difficult time.
