Dorothea "Dot" Hildreth, 95, passed away peacefully August 4, 2025. Born October 31, 1929, in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Josiah H. and Anna D. (Heckman) Yarnell. She was a 1946 graduate of Springfield Technical High School and a 1959 graduate of Mount Ida College. As a faithful communicant of First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow, she was very involved in church activities including the Woman's Fellowship group. She married L. Robert "Bob" Hildreth in 1951 and they were married until his passing on March 22, 2020. She was first employed with Albert Steiger Co. in Springfield and later worked for the Springfield Institution for Savings retiring in 1991. Dot is survived by her sons Mark Hildreth of Mechanicville, NY and Scott Hildreth of Westfield, MA; grandchildren Rebecca Ekmalian, Erika Supczak and Mark Hildreth, Jr.; great-grandchildren Oakley, Hunter and Emery; and other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dot was predeceased by her daughter Jan L. Hildreth on May 9, 2018; brothers Roy and Joseph Yarnell; and sisters Joyce Hutchinson, Anna Gunn, and Betty May Yarnell. Funeral services will be private for the family and have been entrusted to Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, East Longmeadow, MA.
