To the Curtis family, sending my deepest condolences to you on the passing of John. I knew John through our work at the Springfield Museums´ former Connecticut Valley Historical Museum. He was a wonderful coworker, a gentleman and a scholar. His work caring for the History Museum´s collections was so important. His careful attention to detail and thoroughness in preparing entries for the history museum´s records and database will surely continue to be appreciated by future scholars. He will be missed as such a kind friend and coworker. Even after leaving the museum, he continued to highlight the collections through his writing of various articles for scholarly publication. On a lighter note, I used to tell him how cool I thought he looked with his trademark rolled sleeves ... a bit of James Dean in our little museum so many years ago. It made him laugh.
With much sympathy,
Phyllis Jurkowski
