Michael Kocor Obituary

Michael E. Kocor 1948 - 2022 Easthampton Michael E. Kocor, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2022 with his wife, Patricia, by his side, after a brief but valiant battle with Burkitt Lymphoma. Born July 30, 1948, son of Antoinette (Lortie) and the late Edward Kocor, he was raised in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. Michael continued his education, graduating from STCC with a degree in electronics, and from Cambridge College with a Masters degree in education. A US Army veteran, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. In civilian life Michael continued his service to his country as a DCMA Quality Assurance Operations Team Leader, covering Naval Special Emphasis Contracts throughout New England. He was also a founding member of this program. Michael and Patricia traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Hawaii, and especially enjoyed Anguilla, St. John and the Hawaiian Islands. Michael was the current president of the Noritake Collectors Society, and enjoyed collecting and attending conventions throughout the United States, making many friends over a shared interest. A devoted husband and son, he was kind and generous, always willing to help others. He looked forward to cooking for his extended family and hosting holiday dinners. Michael was predeceased in 2014 by his father, Edward J. Kocor. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of forty-seven years, Patricia M. (Goodwin) Kocor; dear mother, Antoinette Kocor; loving sister, Joyce Kosiorek and husband John; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Webb, Edmund and Jean Massa; and dearest special friends, Garry and Cynthia Burgess. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, his adored nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Elena, Edmund, Robert, Rachel, Ryan and James; and his special dog, Aries. Funeral services for Michael will be held Friday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial with Military Honors will be held privately at a later date for family. Calling hours are Friday from 8-9:45AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 3 International Dr., Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573. kozikowskifuneralhome.com

I met Mike at Fort Monmouth in 1968 when we both entered the US Army Signal School - we both went to Vietnam, me to Saigon and Mike to Pleiku. Mike was my youngest daughter's God Father. I will miss him a lot. RIP Mike.

People come into our lives and walk with us a mile
Then because of circumstance they only stay awhile
They serve a need within the time that moves so quickly by
And then are gone beyond our reach
We often wonder why
God only know the reasons why we meet and share a smile
When people come into our lives and walk with us a mile.
Many hugs Patty. xo xo xo

My husband, Doug, worked with Mike at
DCAS. He thought so much of him. We did spend our 50th anniversary at St John, which Michael recommended. So sorry for your loss.
