Gary West Obituary

Gary Lynn West, 77, of Hickory, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee

He was a member of Family Church of Christ, a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves, and a Kentucky State Trooper for 22 years and a Benton Police officer/chief for 12 years

Gary is survived by his son, Paul West of Mayfield; his daughter, Lori Grantham of Boaz; one brother, John Phillip West of Hickory; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul and Charlene Schmidt West.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. John Dale and Andy Walker will officiate. Interment will follow at Spring Creek Church of Christ Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 26. Kentucky State Police Honor Guard will be standing guard at the casket and presenting colors to the family.
