James W. Cavitt, 86, of Mayfield, died at Mills Manor Healthcare on June 8.
He was a member at St. James AME Church in Mayfield and a past employee of the Mayfield Police Department.
Preceded in death by a sister and a brother. His parents were Ava Ruth Bradford Cavitt and Hurdel Cavitt.
Survivors include six daughters, Cynthia Jones, Martha Jean McCampbell, Brenda Tucker, Tonya Kelly, Deeneen Moss, all of Mayfield and Samantha Hayes, Louisville; one son, Greg McCary, Mayfield; several grand and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12 at Mason Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gloria Lasco officiating. Friends may call from noon until service time. Burial in St. Paul Cemetery, Wingo.
