FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Lisa Michelle Wright Beeks passed away on April 20, 2024, in Fort Wayne, at the age of 56. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Aug. 17, 1967, to Bessie Peevyhouse Wright and the late Owen A Wright.
A caring individual with a big heart, Lisa had a great sense of humor. She liked to joke to a certain point until "the look" - when everyone knew it was time to back off.
With a career start in restaurants, Lisa later became a traveling manager with Motels of America. This position took her to many places, allowing her to explore different parts of the country she loved.
Lisa's hobbies were activities that brought her joy and relaxation: reading, solving crossword puzzles, arts and crafts and especially cooking. Most people who had the opportunity to enjoy a meal prepared by Lisa were more than happy when she invited them back for another!
Lisa is survived by beloved son, Nathaniel Beeks; son of her heart, Drew Koedel; mother, Bessie Peevyhouse Wright; brother, Steve Wright; sister, Cheryl Wright; nieces Lindsay, Megan, and Holly Wright; and nephews, Dylan and Jacob Wright.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Owen A Wright; brother, Kenneth Wright; nephew, Lucas Wright; and grandparents, J C and Dollie Wright, and Archie Peevyhouse and Allie Holman Peevyhouse.
After suffering for years with disabling pain and illness, Lisa is now at rest and peace. She will be deeply missed; however, her memory will live forever in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
The service will be held at Johnson Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee, at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Verlin Clark will officiate.
