Lynn McGlenn Obituary

Lynn (Linda) Butler McGlenn, 74, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on Oct. 4, 2025, at her home.

Lynn graduated from Wingo High School in 1969. She continued her education at Freed-Hardeman College and received her associate's degree. Lynn pursued her educational goals at Murray State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Social Work.

Lynn began her career in Jeffersonville, Indiana, working for a children's home. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee. and worked with the elderly, providing functional living skills for those in later stages of life. Lynn relocated to Paris, Tennessee, and counseled adults and young people.

She made her final career move when she moved to Fort Pierce, Florida, where she worked with the disadvantaged and abused. Lynn was a paragon of compassion and hope for those who needed it the most in our society. She will be greatly missed in our world.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father and mother, Paul and Faye Butler; and her paternal grandmother, Rachel Butler; and maternal grandmother, Thelma Anderson.

Lynn is survived by her children Brian McGlenn of Edgewater, Colorado; Loriana McGlenn of Murray, Kentucky; her foster daughter, Brittany Lodai (Elijah Lodai); and grandchildren, Adriana and Eli Lodai of Fort Pierce, Florida. Lynn also had three surviving sisters, Pam Butler, Paula Butler, and Rita Stewart all from Wingo, Kentucky. She has several surviving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Port St. Lucie for her family and close friends. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in her childhood home state of Kentucky. Arrangements for the Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Cuba Church of Christ.
