Philip Norsworthy Obituary

Philip Don Norsworthy, 90, of Mayfield, died at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

He went to work for Pennwalt Corp. in 1965, later called Elf Atochem, as a chemical operator and retired in 1998. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church in Mayfield.

Don is survived by his wife; Jimmie Dean (Hubbs) Norsworthy, to whom he was married for 71 years; a daughter, Cindy Darnell of Mayfield; a son, Greg Norsworthy of Frisco, Texas; and four grandchildren, Britney York of Murray, Shara McCuiston of Farmington, Gabi Norsworthy of Seattle, Washington, and Derek Norsworthy of Austin, Texas; and two sisters, Linda Reed and Lisa Courtney of Mayfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Norsworthy and Ralph Frelon Norsworthy, and three brothers, Richard, Billy, and Jimmy Norsworthy.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Rev. Marcus Burnett officiating, with a note from Rev. Al Cobb and Rev. Don Embry. Visitation will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29.

Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements.
