Scotty Burton Obituary
Scotty Brent Burton passed away peacefully on Oct. 24, 2025, in Bowling Green.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1953, in Mayfield. Scotty was a proud graduate of Mayfield High School and Murray State University. For many years, he was a familiar face in Lynnville, where he operated Burton Service Station. Scotty was also a faithful member of Lynnville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. and Margie W. Burton. Scotty is survived by his brother, Danny France (Robin); his sister, Kessa Moody (Dan); and his nephew, Hunter Simmons.
Scotty's kindness and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was cremated per his wishes.

I grew up in Lynnville. I lived right down the road from him and his father. I saw Scotty and his dad every day. When I joined the army, he was the only one who wrote to me. I really appreciated his kindness and he was always willing to go out of his way to help you if you needed it. I have gotten tons of gas from Burtons Service Station. He will be truly missed. God has truly received a pure soul.

I can´t remember not knowing Scotty and his dad. Burton´s Station in Lynnville was such a part of my growing up years. When we reopened the restaurant and Scotty was trying to reopen the station in 2011/12, Mike and Scotty had big plans to make Lynnville a big city again! Blessings to his family. He was loved by all of us.

Scotty will be missed by the people in Lynnville and the surrounding small towns. He always had a smile and a laugh when I pulled into his service station for gas. He was a student teacher at Sedalia and my Sunday school teacher at Lynnville church. He was a nice person and I am glad to have known him.

I thought a lot of Scotty. I remember him always laughing. He always said when drawing gas that needed to top it off. He was a good man.
