MAYSVILLE – Austin Richard Gore, Jr., 81, of Maysville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024 at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Mr. Gore retired from Browing's/EPT and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Maysville High School.
He was an avid sports fan, loved to play cards and enjoyed hosting an annual super bowl party with his buddies.
Austin was born in Maysville on Dec. 12, 1942 the son of the late Hattie Wormley Gore Dunlap (Wilbert Dunlap) and Austin Richard Gore, Sr.
He is survived by one step-son, Jeffrey Scott Evans of Maysville; four siblings, Alice Dunlap of Maysville, Wilma Johnson of Louisville, David Dunlap (Jo) of Rancho Cordova, Calif. and Wilbert Dunlap (Tanya) of Hutto, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Jerry Gore, Ralph Dunlap, Nancy Dudley, Mary Yett and Florence Dunlap.
Funeral services for Austin Gore, Jr. will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Devine, Eddie Dunlap, Malkolm Devine, Gabe Devine, Demetrick Preston and Jeffrey Scott Evans.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
