MAYSVILLE — Nancy Barnes, 94, of Maysville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 202,5 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was the widow of Bige Barnes, who passed in 1987. She was born in Perry County, Ky., on Jan. 8, 1931, the daughter of the late B. P. and Martha Napier Bowling. Nancy was a lifetime member of the Sizerock Baptist Church in Leslie County, Ky. She was an avid quilter and gardener and loved to crochet and woodwork. Nancy loved to cook for her family and loved them dearly.
She is survived by her five children, Clara Faye Barnes and Melissa Barnes Columbia both of Maysville; Phillip M. Barnes (Linda) of Franklin, Ind. and Harold Barnes (Margaret) and Beverly Campbell (David) both of Columbus, Ind.; four grandchildren, Derek Barnes (Rachel), Jason Campbell, Michael Barnes (Stephanie) and Denise Kincer (Fred); 10 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, the twins, Brian and Ryan Campbell and Greggory Lynn Barnes and her siblings, B. P. Bowling, Jean Barger, Louise Anderson and Clare Gay.
Funeral services for Nancy Barnes will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, with Rev. Tim Harpe officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Campbell, Michael Barnes, Derek Barnes and Ethan Barnes.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the services.
