EWING — Nancy Ellen Pugh, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home in Ewing.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1953, in Libertyville, Ill., to the late Joseph and Olga Pasternak Pietrzak. Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dean Ray Pugh; as well as two sisters, Harriet Hendericks, and Irene Utinans.
She married the love of her life in 1970. They had two sons, who were raised in LaCrosse, Ind.
She worked in pediatrics at Porter Memorial Hospital until she retired and moved to Ewing. They built their retirement home, "A Different View" and took care of many animals including horses, ponies, donkeys, chickens and raising Shelty puppies for many years.
In Nancy's free time she enjoyed spending time with family, camping, boating, reading, quilting, sewing, and watching basketball. She especially enjoyed cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. She was most proud of her role as "Nana" to her three grandchildren.
Nancy and Dean were married over 50 years before his passing in 2021. We take great comfort in knowing that they have been reunited once again.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Brian (Toni) Pugh, Dennis (Dorothy) Pugh; a brother, Joseph (Robin) Pietrzak; three sisters, Lucy (Charlie) Branon, Betty (Danny) Blonski, Joanne (Mickey) Mack; and three adored grandchildren, Samantha Ann Pugh, Hailey Pugh and Aiden Pugh. Nancy will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Services for Nancy will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Robertson County Funeral Home, 724 Sardis Rd, Mount Olivet, KY 41046. Visitation will be held just prior to her service, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m., also at Robertson County Funeral Home.
