FLEMINGSBURG — Ricky Wayne "Rick" Truesdell, 59, of Dover, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville.
Born in Maysville on Dec. 15, 1965, Rick was the son of Joyce Adams Truesdell and the late Delbert Truesdell.
Rick was a retired director of public works after 30 years of service with the city of Maysville. He loved serving his community helping with construction projects such as building ramps for those in need. He loved to hunt and fish, spending time with his family and attending sporting events for his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed driving his grandkids around on his Ranger, loved to mow, and building things with reclaimed barn wood. He was a member of the Tollesboro Christian Church.
Rick is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carla Warder Truesdell; their four children, Dylan and wife Peyton, Daniel, Brooklyn, and Lexi; his two grandchildren, Blair and Brody; and his mother Joyce. He is also survived by four of his siblings, Cherie Rieman and husband Kenny, Terri Fisher, Vicki Fraley, and Darlene Moran and husband Mike; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his dad Delbert, Rick was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Gary Truesdell and Shane Truesdell.
The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at the Tollesboro Christian Church with Steve Pedersen, Mark Ripato, and Dan Gilliam officiating.
Rick will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, 2025. To be a part of the procession driving to the cemetery, please meet at the Tollesboro Christian Church no later than 12:30 p.m.
Pallbearers include Dylan Truesdell, Daniel Truesdell, Dan Gilliam, Dale Corns, Mark Love, and Jim Meadows. Honorary pallbearers include Steve Pedersen, Mark Ripato, Gerald Meadows, and Bobby Pollitt.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m., until the hour of service at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the church located at 3684 W KY 10 in Tollesboro, Kentucky 41189.
