MOUNT OLIVET — Shannon Kay McConnell, 41, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at the Robertson County Health Care Facility under the care of Hospice of Hope.
She was the loving daughter to Lannis "Lanny" Marion McConnell, Jr. and the late Nancy Kay Smith.
Shannon was born on May 29, 1983, in Harrison County, Kentucky.
Shannon graduated from Deming High School in 2002 and earned her veterinary technician certificate thereafter.
She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing at Johnson Creek, horseback riding, or riding her four-wheeler on the family farm.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching UK basketball.
Shannon was strong-willed, hard-working, and funny.
She will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shannon is preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Lannis and Lila Jean McConnell, and her mother, Nancy Kay Smith.
Those surviving are her father, Lannis "Lanny" McConnell, Jr, sister, Sarah (Joseph David) Mashburn; brother, Joseph McConnell; nieces, Ava Mashburn, Kinsley Mashburn, Cora Mashburn.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Shannon on Dec. 8, 2024, at Piqua Christian Church, 158 Piqua Lane, Mt. Olivet, KY 41064, at 2 p.m.
A special thank you to Jenna and the Hospice of Hope staff, who made Shannon's last two months full of Christmas spirit, horse kisses, and comfort.
