Alberta B. Maieli, 84, of Whitehall, formerly of Central Islip, NY, passed away on Wednesday February 15, 2012 in the inpatient unit of Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown. Alberta was the wife of Joseph Maieli and they celebrated their 61st anniversary this past October. Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Bertha (Strenkofsky) Hrenevetzki. Ablerta was a Lab Director for the South West Sewer District in Suffolk County, NY prior to retirement. She was formerly a member of St. John of God Parish in Central Islip, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. Survivors: with her husband Joseph is a son Mark S. and his wife Anne Marie of Miller Place, NY; daughters Carol Wister of Palm Springs, CA, Suzanne Wingate of Colchester, VT, Kathryn J. Maieli of Wilder, VT, and Heidi wife of Al Guevara of South Whitehall Twp; a sister Jean Baldwin of Dunedin, FL. Alberta has nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Alberta was predeceased by her daughter Holly. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in North Catasauqua. Calling will be on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the ODonnell Funeral Home, 1064 Fifth St. North Catasauqua.
