Alfred C. Walp, 91, of Main Street, Quakertown, died Wednesday, June 22, in St. Lukes Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Nanes) Walp and Helen (Hager) Walp. He was a pipe maker for the former Krupp Foundry, Quakertown, for more than 30 years before retiring in 1973. After retiring, he actively worked at his hobby of refinishing furniture. Born in Springton, he was a son of the late Linford and Cora (Campbell) Walp. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Quakertown, where he served a number of years as Sunday school secretary. Survivors: Sons, Kenneth C. and wife Susan, and Phillip L. and wife Barbara, all of Montgomery, Ala.; daughters, Nancy I. Lerch and husband Richard of Allentown, Kathleen of Quakertown; brother, John L. and wife Grace of Bethlehem; sister, Mildred Reighn and husband William of Easton; 10 grandchildren, seven great-granddaughters. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, First United Church of Christ, Quakertown. Interment, Quakertown Union Cemetery. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Jeffrey A. I'm sorry for your loss and that I won't be in attendance at the funeral. In looking at Alfred's picture, I see my grandmother's eyes. It's a nice reminder of each of these family members that have gone on. Mom (Thelma) keeps me updated on the family as she gets news, so I'm glad for this chance to send my condolences directly.
