Allen Powell Obituary

Allen Powell, aged 75, died January 5th, 2024, at St Lukes Anderson Hospital.

Born in Sudbury, Ontario Canada, Allen moved to Newmarket Ont. at age five. He married his high school sweetheart Carol in 1970 and they had 53 years together. He will be terribly missed by Carol, his 2 sons Ted & Mike, granddaughters, Ava & Destiny & his brother Brad in Ontario. Many people knew and loved him.

Allen loved wood working; it was relaxing for him. He also loved scuba diving on shipwrecks in the Great Lakes. Allen worked at Flexicon in sales for many years and still worked for them even at 75.

Allen was a member of the Phillipsburg Alliance Church; he loved Pastor Randy there and many of the members. Allen handmade two plaques, and a lighted cross for the church.

A Calling Hour is scheduled for Saturday, Jan 13th, 2024, at 12:00pm at the Phillipsburg Alliance Church, 255 Lincoln St. Phillipsburg, NJ, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00pm. Arrangements are being handled by the Finegan Funeral Home, Easton, PA.

Really enjoyed Allen´s sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and something of interest to say. Soft spoken so I really perked up my ears and it was always well worth it. He was a funny bunny

We were so sad to hear of Allens passing! We remember him and Carol well from Pburg Alliance, the many years worshipping there together. Will always remember his kindness and gentleness. We look forward to seeing him again when we are reunited in heaven. So very sorry Carol. May the Lord be your comfort and strength.

Dear Carol and Family ,
Their are three things that will make us smile as we remember Allen
1. The joy he shared while telling a good joke.
2. The way he whistled while he worshiped.
3. His deep lifetime love for Carol.
May God's unfailing love surround you during this very difficult season.
You're in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Paul and Sherry Seidel

To Carol, Ted, Mike, and Family: Allen was an intelligent and witty man. He was always telling stories if his exploits and adventures. I am sorry he is no longer with us here, but I am excited that he is now on his greatest adventure, an eternity in heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ!!

It is evident that Allen enriched the lives of those he knew. A gentle, sweet Spirited man - he left a positive wake on the lives of those caring for him at hospital as well. All of my colleagues loved him! I will miss his tender heart, real talk, encouragements, voice - that Canadian speak, ya knoooooOOOH, eh? His love for Jesus & glory in in His Name & work in his life, our lives will be remembered by so many. Love you, Carol. Sending hugs, prayers. Mary-Elizabeth for Alitheia & Luke too

Al was my first work-mate at my first job with 3M in 1974. I can hear his snicker/laugh like that was yesterday. I am honoured to say that he was a friend. The thoughts of my family are with Carol and hers...

Dear Carol-Mike and Ted
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. Allen will be missed by many-but we know by none more than you. We will always remember him for his humor-as silly as it was he would always make us smile-his woodworking-but mostly for his love for his Lord. We know many were there to welcome him home...

Allen was a wonderful friend, church elder, role model, encourager, and leader. He was as guileless a man as I have ever met. I am strengthened to know that his last labored breath here ushered in his first glorious breath in Paradise. Our loss is his gain. Blessings and prayers to Carol and Ted and Mike. Love you all, Pastor Randy Nelson
