Aniceto Basante, 94, of Nazareth, Pa., formerly of Cartaret, N.J., passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006, in his home. Born January 24, 1912, in Cacabelos, Spain, he was a son of the late Gregorio and Maria dos Santos (Canao) Basante. Aniceto came to the U.S. in 1950 with his mother and lived in Cartaret until 2003. He was of the Catholic faith. He worked for 25 years at U.S. Metal and Refinery, also known as the Cooper Works, until retiring. Survivors: Nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, in Argentina, Spain, Brazil, France, New Jersey, Tennessee, Connecticut, Colorado and Bethlehem, and he resided with his niece, Rosario Kahler and her husband Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jose, Francisco and Luis, and six sisters, Condida, Rosario, Domitila, Alzira, Maria Jose and twin Camilla. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006, George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc., Moorestown, 2165 Community Drive, Bath. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Moorestown.
