Barbara Strobel Obituary

Barbara A. Strobel, 75, beloved wife and mother of nine children passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 14, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was married to James P. Strobel for 54 years. Born in Fullerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Esther (Breitfeld) Kotcher. She graduated as Salutatorian from Whitehall High School and she worked for a number of years in Allentown as a secretary. She was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church at Beech and Hanover Streets, Pottstown. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her nine children and twenty-one grandchildren and hosting large Sunday dinners. She also enjoyed crocheting, making crafts and going to her grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors: In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Christopher J. Strobel, husband of Stephanie, of Barto; Regina M. Ferry, wife of John, of Roslyn; Laura A. D'Agostino, wife of Don, of Sanatoga; Andrew J. Strobel, husband of Sherri, of Pilesgrove, NJ; Jennifer L. Reigner, wife of Eric, of Gilbertsville; Nancy J. Henry, of Boyertown; Stephen J. Strobel, fiancé of Erin Zerr, of Pottstown; James P. Strobel, Jr., husband of Devon, of Reading, and Barbara A. Jacobs, wife of Forrest, of Temple. And her grandchildren, Stacy, Tucker, Mikey, Nick, Andrew, Timmy, Matthew, Christina, Eric, Alexa, Johnny, Alex, Evan, Brenna, Julia, Kyle, Mackenzie, Corbin, Jacob, Kaydence and Renley. Services: Friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 223 Beech Street, Pottstown with a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery of St. Mary's Church in Catasauqua. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA, 19004.
