I remember Bernie well from high school at Notre Dame. He was youthful and green back then, but he grew with the years. He may have been a classmate at St. Anne's elementary school in Bethlehem. Darn, my memory is not what it used to be. Bernie, you were a class guy. R.I.P. and Cheers. Matt Temmel, Tacoma, WA.

I knew Officer Benko while he was working for the police department. His family can rest knowing that he had made a difference in the world. May he rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to the Benko family. Although we drifted apart during our high school years, I remember the times we had together as teenagers, riding our bike throughout the area, going as far as North Bangor and just hanging out together. Throughout our good times and troubling times Bernie always remained strong, not only in our friendship but to himself. RIP Strongman.
