Bernice B. Ambers
Bernice (Beidler) Ambers, 82, of Center Valley, formerly of Germansville, died Monday, December 3, 2007 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Ambers. Born in Allentown on May 2, 1925, Bernice was the daughter of the late Earl T. and Norma A. (Rice) Beidler. She was the co-owner and operator, with her husband, of the former Germansville Hotel, from 1977-88. Bernice was a graduate of Allentown High School, class of 1943. Survivors: Daughters, Janice E. Charles of Phoenix, Arizona, Sharon K. Rodriguez and her husband, David, of Whitehall and Sandra L. Brinckman and her husband, Kevin, of Zionsville; sister, Ruth Moser of Schnecksville; brothers, Donald Beidler in Florida and Earl Beidler of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Brandy, Amber, Michael, Jeffrey and Eric; great- grandchildren, Darby and Connor. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Haller. Services: Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may call 9-10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Friedensville Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: www.heintzelmanfh.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice, c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

When I read Bernice's obituary, it brought back fond memories of the times I spent in the Germansville Hotel eating and enjoying many wonderful meals. Many times over the year's I yearned for a cheesteak or her wonderful chili. God bless you and treasure your memories.
