Carolyn Jayne Hoffman, 48, of Allentown, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Dr. Arthur and Barbara (Oberdorfer) Hoffman of Allentown. She was employed for 17 years as a Teacher's Aide in an early intervention program with young children from pre-school to 3rd grade. Carolyn attended the Baum School of Art, and was an avid painter. She had a one woman art show at East Stroudsburg University and at "Art in Park" in Allentown. Carolyn was a member of Congregation Keneseth Israel, Allentown. She graduated from William Allen High School and the Pathway School, and was also a member of Adaptations, The Arc and the CIL.

Survivors: Parents; Brother, Louis A. Hoffman and his daughters Olivia Ann and Adelaide Grace; Aunts; Uncles; and Cousins.

Services: 1 PM Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Congregation Keneseth Israel, 2227 W. Chew St., Allentown. Interment to follow at Keneseth Israel Cemetery. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Keneseth Israel, Congregation Brith Sholom, Access Services, or Arc.

I was saddened to read of Carolyn´s (Carrie to me) passing. I remember teaching her in kindergarten all those years ago. What a sweet girl! What an awesome young woman she turned out to be. Beautiful in all ways.

I was so sorry to hear about Carolyn´s passing. My daughter, Kris attends the Access program with Carolyn. Kris is nonverbal, loves music and loves to laugh. Carolyn always took time to spend with Kris. When ever I would see Carolyn she would tell me what Kris had done that day. I always thanked Carolyn for filling me in on this since Kris wouldn´t tell me. This usually made Carolyn laugh.
Telling Kris of Carolyn´s passing was very sad. We were at her service today and I know Kris understood she would not be seeing Carolyn at program. On our way home Kris became very quiet and still. I looked over and she was crying. Thank you Barbara and Art for raising such a wonderful person and sharing her with us. She will always be in our thoughts.

Please accept my condolences for your family's loss. Carolyn was a ray of sunshine every day while she attended The Pathway School. While she was with us I was one of the Physical Education teachers and afterwards became one of the school's directors. I retired 4 years ago and now have the privilege of serving on the school's Corporate Board of Directors. We met at the school several times and it was clear to me how precious she was to you both. I am so glad she had a career working with young children, as she had a lot of love to give to everyone. I am certain this work gave her much joy. I will join you in celebration of a life well lived.
