Cathy Dugan Obituary
Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Crozier) Ihm and the late John Ihm. She was the loving wife of Lawrence Dugan with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage this past May. Cathy graduated from Parkland High School in 1967 and earned an Associate's Degree from LCCC in 1969. After taking time off to start a family, Cathy returned to school and earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science from Moravian College in 1981. After a 30 year career working for the City of Allentown, Cathy retired in 2015 as a Senior Systems Analyst. While Cathy excelled at and took pleasure from her work life, her true passion was for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and Canada but the best memories were made during her many trips to Disney World and Ocean City, Maryland with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was a lifelong exerciser and enjoyed walks at Trexler Park. She was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Cathy will be lovingly remembered for her optimism, kindness, and big smile. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Dugan; her mother, Dorothy (Crozier) Ihm; her sons, Matthew Dugan and wife Melissa of North Whitehall; Damien Dugan and wife Tracy of South Whitehall; grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, and Caitlin Dugan; brothers, John Ihm and wife Frances; Mark Ihm and wife Patricia; sister Linda Joseph and husband Harvey and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Online condolences for the family may be recorded at www.brubakerfuneralhome.com. Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements.

I think of Cathy everyday. We a) know life is not fair but losing Cathy topped the unfairness. She was the very best. She was so brave n strong n realistic. Cathy had great humor. MRS. D was a amazing woman, I was privileged to know her for many years through my brother in-law Damien. She was a kind soul and full of life. The many family gatherings we had her smile and laugh would light up the room. My memories with the up coming new year reminds me of the parties she would throw and how welcoming she was to everyone in her house. Her hospitality and caring to everyone she came in contact with was who Mrs D was, she just made everything seem like it was good. My deepest sympathy goes out to Mr d.
