Charles Knapp Obituary

Charles H. Knapp Jr., of Allentown, went home to be with our Lord & Savior on June 17, 202 at the age of 90. He was born in Temple, Pa to the late Charles H. Sr. and Emma (Curtis) and was predeceased by his wife Barbara A. (Kurzeja) of 64 years and his son David. Charlie served others humbly in love. Maybe you were one of the blessed people to cross paths with Charlie. If so, then you received a smile and a kind word or compliment. He was one of the friendliest people; it did not matter if you were family, friend, or a store clerk. Charlie had worked as a Math Teacher at Dieruff High School, as a Guidance Counselor at Allen High School, and for Bethlehem Steel. Charlie was very active at Seibert EC Church and then at Horizon Church along with Waldheim Park, all in Allentown.

Survivors: Son William C. Knapp and wife Kathleen. Daughter Kathy L. and husband Lee A. Walck, 6 Grandchildren: Jenn (Brian) Bell, Anthony (Samantha), Eric, Sean, Lee-Adam (Cassie), and Heather (Kevin) Walk-Weikert. Great Grandchildren: Harrison A. Walk and Reilly L Weikert. Services: A Memorial Service will be held at Horizon Church, 2613 West South Street, in Allentown. A date will be announced once it is safe to gather. Until then let's remember our memories we have of Charlie www.weberfuneralhomes.com

My sympathies to the Knapp clan. I was one of the lucky people who was blessed to have Charlie in my life. He always served his Lord in every way possible. He and Barbara opened their home to a rowdy group of teens several Sundays a month. As I grew older, they sent me cards on my birthday and Christmas every year. Charlie was active in our church and at Waldheim until he went to be with the Lord. Hallelujah!

As @10yrs ago trumpet partner in old Seibert EC, yes he was friendliest elder. Passed away back on my birthday...Hope in Heaven he greeted my wife 1/16 --we'd go to Waldheim Park where I knew his home was up in corner - he even had me usher for offering there once. Was great to talk with him later when once Parkland concert had outdoor long line. I should have talked about math major at Nazarene college. Miss him.
