Charles Pennington Obituary

Charles H. Pennington, 84, of Marshalls Creek, died Jan. 10 in Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville. He was married to Elizabeth (Bach) Pennington for 61 years. A graduate of Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, he was an accountant for Keystone Automobile Club and Mrs. Paul's Kitchen, Philadelphia, before retiring. Born in Parkesburg, Chester County, he was a son of the late Harold Pennington and Della (Newhouser) McClune. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, East Stroudsburg. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Army Reserve for 23 years. He was a volunteer for Pocono Medical Center. A Mason, he was grand master for Fort Washington Lodge, Montgomery County. Survivors: Wife; son, David of Rochester, N.Y.; daughters, Dianne Barba of Marshalls Creek, Lisa of Warwick, N.Y.; brother, Miles McClune in Colorado; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews. Services: memorial, 2 p.m. Saturday in the church. Call 1-2 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements, Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, East Stroudsburg. Contributions: To the church, East Stroudsburg R.2.
