Charles Ronckovitz Obituary

Passed away on July 14, 2021 at the age of 83, in Allentown, PA. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile, despite the pain, Chuck stayed strong until the end. Chuck is survived by his wife Rosemarie, her two sons, Charles Knauss and his wife Christianna and Dennis Knauss and his wife Ellen, his three sons, Charles, Craig and James Ronckovitz, his brother Thomas Ronckovitz and his wife Peggy and his nephew Thomas Ronckovitz Jr. Chuck was born in Staten Island, New York on May 24, 1938 to Charles and Antoinette Ronckovitz. He attended Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, N. J. and Syracuse University. He then went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry. After graduation he settled in Whitehall, PA and opened his practice where he worked until retirement in 2004. In his spare time Chuck enjoyed fishing and spent many enjoyable hours on the water. He will be greatly missed.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Stanley Moczydlowski on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at 11:00 am in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Avenue, Whitehall, PA 18052, located 1 block south of the Fullerton Ave. exit of Route 22. His viewing will begin at 9:30 am in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd Whitehall, located directly across from the Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Whitehall. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Arcadia Hospice at 4658 Broadway, Suite B01, Allentown, Pennsylvania 18104 or to a charity of your choice.

I worked with Dr. Ronckovitz. Many years ago when he was at the Lehigh Valley Mall. He was a kind and generous provider and he taught me many things. Prayers to the family.
