Gen. Searock. You were there for me when the Air Force was going to end my career at 16 years. You presence stopped them in their tracks. Always in your debt, Rick Hartkopf, Msgt(ret), USAF

Without a doubt one of the finest officers I ever came in contact with during my time in the Air Force. I still vividly remember an out brief at the end of a SAC ORI in 1979 when they showed the overall ratings of the Maintenance Squadrons (He was the DCM at the time) and they were all rated Excellent. I've always been proud of my early promotion to Senior Airman and he was the Commander of the early promotion board that time, made it that much more special. Not only was he highly professional but he always seem to have a smile on his face and treated everyone with respect.

Charlie and I traded Bomb Squadron and OMS commands at Pease AFB, NH, were GOs together in SAC, and were dear friends for most of our professional careers. He and Ann were among our dearest friends, and we felt Charlies loss deeply. Sadly, we have lost track of Ann, but wish her to know Virginia and I extend our deepest sympathies at her loss.

I served with him in Plattsburgh AFB back when he was wing commander in 1983, remember talking to him on a red flag exercise in las vegas. He had the respect of everyone who worked for him.
July 20, 2015
Charlie was a great friend and a superb human being. He was the bomb squadron commander at Pease AFB, and I the OMS/CC. One day the wing commander called us in and told us we'd just changed jobs! For an hour or so I had both squadrons.. Not sure at first he knew what to expect, but as he so often did, jumped in with both feet.
Lots of laughs on both our parts, and great memories.
Later we were GOs at SAC HQ together. Again good times and fond memories.
Virginia and I have wonderful memories of our service with Ann and Charlie, and I will remeber Ann and family in my prayers.
God bless

Dear Ann,
I was just told of Charlie's death today. I am so sorry for you family's loss and also for the loss to our nation. He was the finest man that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. When he came to Dynasil it was only natural that I replace myself as chairman with Charlie. He was a natural leader and he truly cared for everyone who worked with him. He is humble and has an uncommon wisdom and generosity that benefits everyone who knows him. He deserves every accolade and reward that was ever given to him. Ann you and Charlie have given so much to so many. Thank you for sharing him with us. He loved his life, his family, his country and above all you.

I only met and saw Charlie twice in my life. He drove me to start my career in the USAF As an AVcad In 1956. I was 2 days older than him and I felt that I had known him all my life at the time. The next time I saw him was years later when he wore his first star as a BG ... I was not surprised. I only learned of his passing via the Military Officer magazine. It is good to learn that he led a most noble career and family loving life. May God bless and comfort his family and friends.

My Grandfather was Stephen Searock of Nazareth, PA. My Father, who passed in 2008, was John W. Searock. I had the pleasure of meeting General Searock when he came to Greenville, South Carolina for a speaking engagement back in the mid-90's. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear General Searock,
You and Ann were more than my angels during those trying years from childhood through young adulthood. Yikes, to say the least. You generously gave me strength, hope, encouragement and love exactly when and how I needed it most. And boy did you sweeten and celebrate a finish line! You never failed to see me through a grueling muddy cross country race or long awaited graduation ceremony. Doctors appointments, housing debacles, lost textbooks, mortifying acne and other sagas of my youth you somehow welcomed with healing kindness and grace. How I will miss you and forever keep your lessons of generosity and service dear in my heart. Thank you for making me better, the world better. I am so very lucky to know you. God bless you.

Oh the memories! Pease AFB twice ~~ when the General was the OMS Commander and I was the IG inspector, and then when I was the OMS Commander and he was the Vice Wing Commander; HQ SAC Loggie work during the Gulf War; dove hunting on the Platte River; visiting RAF Loggies in England; HQ SAC Loggie Retreats; DO vs LG cricket matches on the Offutt AFB quadrangle; with Ann, attending Mark and Tracy's New Jersey wedding; officiating my retirement. Always the stellar, down-to-earth gentleman and leader ~~ my best boss ever! As the General used to say, "Ya done good!" ~~ he did real good!! Ann, Bev and I send our prayers, love and hugs to you and the family.
