Chester P. Ace Gieniec, 62, of Lansford, formerly of Summit Hill, died on October 11, 2009 in his residence. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of late Stanley and Helen (Kirpolsky) Gieniec of Summit Hill. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School in 1965. He retired from Merck & Co., Lansdale. He served in the Army during Vietnam, receiving a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Star, Purple Heart and Bronze Star with a V Device for Valor. He was a member of the Summit Hill American Legion. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors: Along his mother is a daughter, Jobina Duffy of Blue Bell; son, Walter Martin of Frankfort, Ky.; five brothers, Stanley and his wife, Marnie, of Nesquehoning, Edward and his wife, Nancy, of Summit Hill, Ronald and his wife, Sharon, of Coaldale, Michael of Lansford and James and his wife, Kathy, of Summit Hill; four sisters, Margaret Pascoe of Summit Hill, Christine Feller and her husband, David, of Lehighton, Cecelia Hydro and her husband, Steven, of Jim Thorpe and Mary Helen Badowsky and her husband, Richard, of Lansford; two grandchildren, Patrick Duval and Reghan Duffy; several nieces, nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 in the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 West Fell St., Summit Hill. Calling hours Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Legion service Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
