Christina Decker

Christina M. Decker, 100, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Christina was born in Newmanstown. Her childhood was spent in Bethlehem, where she later raised her own family. She graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1933 and went on to attend Moravian College. She later moved to Allentown where she lived out the rest of her years. Christina was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was well known as a church organist, beginning her "career" at age 12 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bethlehem. Christina was an active volunteer in the Lehigh Valley, her time given to swimming for Cancer, the annual Chanel 39 Auction, Red Cross Blood Drive, and the Braille Institute. Christina also acted as usher for many years at the annual Bach Festival in Bethlehem. Christina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and many friends. Her love for her family, her music, and her church was her passion in life and remains her legacy. Christina was preceded in death by her husband Charles Decker in 1982. Survivors: She is survived by her 4 children, daughter, Joan "Jody", sons, Tom and wife Mary Ellen, Charles, and Marshall and wife Deb. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grand children. In addition, she is survived by her brother Dr. Ned Wallace and sister Ruth Paul.
