Christina H. Moriarty

1956 - 2021

Christina (Christine) H. Moriarty, born December 11, 1956, of Catasauqua, PA, and Myer Creek, VA, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021.

She is celebrated in life by her mother, Agnes Horst; her husband of 43 years, Michael Moriarty; her four children, son Benjamin Moriarty, his wife Christy, and children Cara and Brennan; daughter Elizabeth Lange, her husband Charles, and children Gabby, Andrew, Sydney, and Jackson; daughter Theresa Moriarty and fiancé Adam; and daughter Sarah Moriarty; and her siblings, Rita Horst, Agnes Horst, wife ofJohn, and Martin Horst, husband of Laurie; as well as many beloved extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends. Christine was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Horst (1920 – 2003).

Christine's life and personality is far beyond what mere words can describe. The following is a glimpse of insight into this incredible woman. She was a hall of fame hugger, she would drive hundreds of miles just to babysit her adoring grandchildren, and she would break into dance anywhere and anytime an upbeat song caught her ear. She had an infectious smile and displayed unrelenting compassion. She was brilliant, with an incredible ability to understand anything, anyone, or any perspective. She knew how to find joy in even the hardest of moments. When she spoke to you, it felt like you were the only person in the world. She always made the time, for whoever needed it. There was never a moment she said she was too busy or couldn't do something. She always made it happen. She was amazing company; there was no one better to drink wine with, road trip with, laugh with, or just listen when needed.

From early on, she showed her love of arts and crafts; she was so creative and could make something exquisite out of the simplest of items. She loved nature, animals, and fuzzy things. She had an amazing imagination and sense of humor.

"Swiss Chris" always made our time together an incredible memory- cheese anyone? She found the good in all of us and celebrated it joyously. Everything and everyone she touched bloomed. Her smile lit up the room when she walked in. Christine was a best friend and sister who could erase fear and loneliness during some of life's most difficult transitions. Christine had a smile that was captivating and inviting. She had a natural ability to make a connection with everyone she met and make you instantly feel like you've always belonged. She had a fire in her soul and so much grace in her heart.

In the words of her loving husband, Mike, "Bottom line, she was unbelievable. She's my girl."

A memorial mass will be held Friday, June 11, at 10:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Catasauqua, PA, followed by a celebration of her life. Online condolences may be made to the family at brubakerfuneralhome.com
