Clarence Mickey Obituary

Skip Mickey of Allentown PA passed away peacefully on January 24th, with family at his bedside. He was 89 years old. Son of George Edgar Mickey and Sarah Latshaw Mickey. He was an Air Force veteran, a Mason, a volunteer at Central Elementary School and Meals on Wheels (for over a decade), and a family man. He had his humor and wit to the end. Felled by a stroke and medical complications, he hung in until his 71st wedding anniversary, passing quietly the following day. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Trudy; his children Dav (Carol), Dan, Cindy (Harvey) and Rich (Tracy); his grandchildren Jen (Shaun), Lisa (Steve), Tara, Steve (John), and Matt; and his great grandchildren Kamryn, Ryan, Kylie, Jack and Olivia. He had many nieces, nephews, sister in law Polly Mickey, loved ones, and friends. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley, 1302 N Sherman Street, Allentown PA 18109

I am deeply saddened by Skip's passing and offer you my sincere sympathy. My Dad, Jim, was one of Skip's coworkers for years, and they remained friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Skip on several occasions and will remember his sense of humor and kindness. Please try to hold onto dear memories during this difficult time. Praying for comfort for the family.

Skip was a good friend for almost 53 years. We worked together and played golf and bridge together. He always enjoyed and put 100% into whatever he was engaged in. He seemed genuinely happy and quickly saw humor in odd situations. He was an expert at his work and shared his knowledge without restraint. Anyone who knew him counted him as a friend. I will surely miss him.
