Very hard to believe it's been a year already without Dave around! Dave was, and will remain, the life of the party. Super guy who was always smiling, and always had positive to say about people, places and things. My friend, keep a seat warm for us, as I know you are in the Kingdom of Heaven. Miss yea Pal.

A friend

On May 1, 2021 David E. Shaffer departed on his final "Viking" voyage--many times he jokingly said he wanted to go out as a "Viking". For anyone who cared about David, speaking from my vantage point, his final departure was way too early--because David was really a wonderful person. He had a strong work ethic, was always available to help others, and was a truly supportive and gentle person. He freely gave of his smiles and waves, whether he just met you or knew you a long time.

Aside from his children, David shared an enduring love with Deb; most people never get to experience this, and it was priceless.

David was a special unique individual who left a void in many a heart--unfortunately, one that will never be filled. All I hope for is that David's final trip lands him on a Canadian lake where he can catch big fish forever. That would put a smile on his face.

One of his many friends

Dave worked for me in the Facilities Management Department of PPL. He was a hoot of a guy, always smiling, always had something funny to say and was just great to be around. Many a time, we would throw a few back at the Leather Corner Post. We always had a good time together, and Dave sure could brighten your day. May you rest in Peace my Brother; you will be missed in a big way.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to you. I am just a neighbor on Columbia St who recently started to walk our lab by your beautiful house daily. I said Hi to you once or twice. I am so sorry you lost your husband. My heart breaks for you and your family. Pretty sure when I was still working at Wachovia Bank @ Cedar Crest years ago, your husband was a customer of mine. Always so friendly. Just saw him out recently... Hugs to you !! God Bless !
