Donald E. Smith Sr.
Donald E. Smith, Sr., 66, of Bangor, passed away Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 at his residence. Born on March 22, 1944, in Pen Argyl, PA, he was the son of the late Arlet E. and Elizabeth J. (Haffling) Smith. Donald was the husband of the late Drusilla L. (Hunt) Smith, who died in 2001.He worked as a Chemical Waste Treatment Operator at Mallinckrodt Baker Chemical Co. Phillipsburg, NJ., until retiring in 2009.He was a 1962 graduate of Pen Argyl High School.He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Pen Argyl. Donald was a member of the Pen Argyl Republican Club. Survivors: daughters, Michelle A. Toothman of Felton, DE., Anita Ross of New Zealand; son, Donald E. Smith, Jr. of Pen Argyl; sisters, Daisy Pearson of New Tripoli, PA., Dot Polies of Saylorsburg, PA; four grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter.He was predeceased by his step father, Robert G. Court. Services: Memorial Service will be held at Noon Friday, July 30, 2010, in the Reed/Gaffney Funeral Home, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane Village of Johnsonville Bangor, PA. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield Twp., PA. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place Bethlehem, PA. 18017 or The Center for Animal Health & Welfare 1165 Island Park Road, Easton, PA 18042.
