Douglas (or Duck-less as Earl teasingly called him when he was young) will always hold a warm spot in my heart. That easy going personality & warm smile won over all who met him. Plus he was such a clown!
I remember how he'd keep various Halloween masks in the coat closet & put them on year round, to startle Grammy who would open her eyes w-i-d-e, then laugh. Sonny (or Poochie as Grammy called him) would growl, tale wagging, while Doug got out the old baseball mitt he also stashed in there & let Sonny "play attack" the masked stranger..
Doug was always playing practical jokes on the unsuspecting. I can truthfully say the world will be less bright & welcoming without Doug's presence, but I'm sure he's entertaining the angels with all his crazy antics. My sincere condolences, love and prayers for Ray, Marge, Fred, Alan, Cindy and John.

I am a co-worker and wrote this for Doug
I started to write this poem for you
And I just began to cry
A nicer co-worker we couldn't have
You were just the kindest guy
I'd interrupt you in your work
Doug, can you come help me out
And with a smile you'd say "Yes"
Of course you would, without a doubt
We heard the news in disbelief
I put natural hearts upon your desk
You had to leave before you planned
Doug you are so, greatly missed.
My Heart felt condolences for your loss.
