Dudley "Doug" Jinks

1948 - 2017

Dudley "Doug" C. Jinks, 68 of South Whitehall, passed away on July 2, 2017. Born on July 10, 1948 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he grew up in Plainfield and Milford, New Jersey. Doug spent two years in the Army infantry, stationed and living in Monterey California. For many years, Doug followed a winding career path. Later in life he found one of his true passions, one in which he could give back, teaching. After earning his Bachelors degree from Muhlenburg College and teaching certificate, he taught business courses at Catasauqua High School. Doug will always be remembered for his generosity, selflessness, and sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees. He will be remembered by many for his devotion to youth sports, coaching soccer and baseball and serving as the Executive Director of the Lehigh Valley Youth Soccer League for many years. Doug also loved listening to music and reading, he was truly a lifelong learner. Survivors: Doug leaves behind a wife of 36 years, Carol (Kociolek) Jinks; daughter Deena K Beard and her husband William; son Jonathan and wife Suzanne Jinks and son Daniel Jinks. He is survived by mother, Janet (Pellitier, Jinks) Shoup; brothers, Albert Jinks and wife Patricia, Roger Jinks and wife Kathleen and sister Jeanette Downing and husband Jeff. He was preceeded in death by his father, Dudley C. Jinks Sr. Services: A calling period from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a memorial service will be held on Saturday July 8 at the Trexler Funeral Home 1625 W. Highland St. Allentown PA 18102 Contributions: Donations may be made to the Children's, Hospital of Philadelphia or the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
