Edward M. Bolcar Sr.

1928 - 2023

Edward M. Bolcar, Sr., 94, of Bethlehem, died Monday, June 19, 2023 peacefully at his daughter's residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Irene V. (Kereczman) Bolcar which they shared 73 years of marriage. Ed was born in Cementon on December 6, 1928 to the late Michael and Mary (Nederostek) Bolcar. A proud veteran, he served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 28th Infantry Division. Ed worked as an Overhead Crane Operator for Bethlehem Fabricators for 28.5 years and then in Facility Services for Moravian College for 29.5 years until retiring. He was awarded Employee of the Year at Moravian College in 1997. Ed was a member and Custodian of the Bethlehem Panthers AA, member of the National Sokols, and a former member of the Tri-Boro Sportsman Club. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and tinkering in the garage making Whirligigs.

Survivors: In addition to his wife; daughter: Veronica E. (Bolcar) Pavelko of Bethlehem Twp., brothers: Joseph (Marie) Bolcar of Bethlehem, Thomas (Dorothy) Bolcar of Bath; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jen Fitzko) Stofanak & Alexandra Bolcar. Predeceased by his son: Edward M. "Eddie", Jr.; brother: Michael and son-in-law: Paul Pavelko.

Service: Family and friends are invited to call 9:00-10:30am Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street-Bethlehem followed by a service at 10:30am. The interment will conclude services at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown with Military Honors. Online condolences may be offered at connellfuneral.com.
