Elizabeth Nagy Sivell
Elizabeth Meaker Nagy Sivell, 96, formerly of Bethlehem, died April 11, 2005. She was the wife of the late Eugene N. Nagy, who died in 1956, and Hugh G. Sivell, who died in 1999. Born in Somersville, Mass., on May 29, 1908, she was the daughter of the late W. Lathrop and Anna (Laramy) Meaker. She was a graduate of Liberty High School and East Stroudsburg State Teachers College. She taught for 26 years for Bethlehem School District. A former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, she was a member of Church of the Manger U.C.C., Bethlehem, and its Womens Guild. She was a member of the National, State, County and Local Retired Teachers associations, a former member of the Womens Club of Bethlehem, and a former advisor to the Junior Womens Club. She served many years as a volunteer for the Bethlehem Y.W.C.A. cafeteria and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer for more than 10 years. Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Janet Nagy of Hellertown; daughters, Julie, wife of C. Roger Bennett of Doylestown, Peg, wife of Charles Fuller of Palmer Township, Susan, wife of Frank Dunstan of Greenwich, N.Y.; stepson and wife, H. Gordon and Joyce Sivell of Schnecksville; stepdaughter, Judy, wife of Andrew Wagner of Erie; 10 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in the church, 1401 Greenview Drive, Bethlehem. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements, John F. Herron Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Contributions: To the church 18018.
