Florence Gillott Obituary
Florence Babe Gillott, 87 of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, where she had been a resident for several years. She was the former wife of the late William Gillott. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on May 5, 1922 and lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of the late William and Salome (Thomas) Urniesz. Florence worked at Hartford Insurance Company as a microfilm operator and was a volunteer for many years for the Salvation Army, helping with their food and clothing drives, Christmas programs and singing in their choral group. Survivors: Daughters, Joyce Silverblatt wife of David of Bethlehem, and Marlene Crain wife of Andrew of Moon Township; four grandchildren, Daniel Silverblatt and wife Kathleen, Dina Nickol and husband Robert, Douglas Manion and wife Sue, Stacey Riley and husband Joseph. Florence Grandma Flozie also has 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Amelia. Services: Calling hours are Thursday, November 19, from 7-9 p.m. in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St, Bethlehem and Friday from 11 a.m.- 12 Noon in Holy Family Manor, 1200 Spring St, Bethlehem, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Joyce, our hearts goes out to you with the passing of your Mother. I will always remember her at the Manor singing her heart out with that beautiful voice of hers. Mom, Grandma will live in our hearts forever....although she will be truly missed, it is comforting to know that all her pain is gone and that the peacefulness she deserves will finally greet her. Our entire family is so fortunate to know that you are a true product of Grandma. You are my strength and rock, just as Gram was for you. I love you mom , you are my world.
