Franklin W. Berger
Franklin W. Berger, 104, of Nazareth died peacefully at Luther Crest, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Mary (Jurasits) Berger who died July 8, 2001. Frank was a chef for 55 years in various restaurants. He also served in the US Army for 24 years serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He was born May 7, 1908, in Bangor, son of the late Jacob and Birdie Berger. Frank was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth. He was a member of VFW Post #4366 and American Legion Post #415 of Nazareth. Frank was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mount Holly, NJ, for 55 years. Survivors: Daughter, Marge Tetteman and husband Frank, Bushkill Township, son, John and wife Phyllis, Gilroy CA, daughters, Judy Tanzosh and husband Bill, Nazareth, Jo Ann Siegfried and fiance Dale Smith, Bath, Karen Ritter and husband Donald Ritter Jr., Allentown; 14 Grandchildren; 22 Great-grandchildren; predeceased son-in-law, Junior Siegfried, sisters, Hilda, Esther Schuman, Mabel Schmeck, and brothers, Wilbert, Elwood, Walter Berger. Services: Viewing Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m., funeral Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in Reichel Funeral Home, 220 Washington Park, Nazareth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Nazareth. Burial with military honors is in Holy Family Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. in Reichel Funeral Home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Church in c/o the funeral home, or to American Cancer Society.
