Frederick E. Farnsworth

Frederick Edward Farnsworth, 79, of Orefield, passed away September 24, 2018, at home. He was the husband of the late Betty Marie (Roth) Farnsworth. They were married for 50 years. Fred was born in Allentown a son of the late Elmer Howard (Harold) and Elsie (Rituper) Farnsworth. He was a banker for the former Merchants Bank serving the downtown Allentown branch for 30 years. Fred then worked part time at the Hallmark store in the South Mall before fully retiring in 2003 when he and his wife Betty moved to Franklin, NC. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1958. Fred was a member of the Orefield Jehovah's Witnesses. He volunteered for Musikfest, Hawk Mountain and was an avid animal lover. Survivors: He is survived by his daughter Roxann Mrochko, Son-In-Law Joe Mrochko and grandson Nicolai Mrochko. He was predeceased by his brother Harold J. Farnsworth.
