Frederick J. Richardson III

Frederick J. Richardson III, 86, of Wescosville PA, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. He and his wife, Kathryn S. (Compton), celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in January. Born in Mount Rainier MD, he was a son of the late Mayor Frederick J. Richardson II and the late Wilhelmina M. (Nuthall) Richardson and was a member of the first graduating class of DeMatha Catholic High School, Hyattsville MD. After serving his country in the Army during the Korean War, Fred graduated from the University of Maryland in 1968 and retired from the M. W. Wood Co. A member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, he was an avid golfer and spent his retirement actively involved in all aspects of the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors: wife, Kathryn S.; sons, Frederick IV and wife, Lori, Philip L. and wife, Cathy; daughters, Karen M. Topper and husband, Stephen, Sharon M. Trupia, Mary K. Reigh and husband, Daniel; brother, John G.; 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Daniels and Anna Duncan. Services: 12 PM Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Ave. Allentown PA. Call 11 AM until time of Mass. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery 1300 Bladensburg Rd. NE, Washington DC at 12 PM Wednesday. Arrangements entrusted to STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
