Dear Colette, Andrew and Jeffrey:
I was so sorry to read about Jerry's passing today.
Jerry surely was one of those special people you come to know once in a lifetime. He came to me many years ago as one of my first patients when I was fresh out of the Navy. He was not just a patient, but a good friend. It was always a pleasure seeing Jerry and his family in my office until my retirement several years ago. He has touched the lives of so many students he taught throughout the years that became better people due to his commitment as a true educator. He served his country with his bravery, as well as serving the community. My prayers are with him, and may God bless his soul, and may he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
John Mecca, MD

Jerry was a beloved colleague, mentor, and friend to so many. As I entered my career at Cetronia Elementary as a 6th grade teacher he helped guide me and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will always be remembered by his Parkland family. Rest in peace Jerry.
