George Hood Obituary

George R. Hood, Jr., 76, of Sequim, Wa, died October 8, 2022 in The Crestwood Health & Rehab Ctr. in Port Angeles, Wa. of Parkinson's Disease. He was the husband of Linda Townsley Hood for 50 years in September. A graduate of Wm. Allen High School in 1964, he entered the United States Air Force and was trained at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey California. He then served as a Russian Linguist in the Intelligence Division of the Air Force in both Japan and Turkey. Following his service to our country, he attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. and studied Russian History and Language. He also attended and graduated with a degree in Theology from The Ambassador College in Pasadena California, where he met and married his wife Linda. He then served as a Pastor for the World Wide Church of God in the Philippines for several years. After relocating to Seattle Wa. he completed his degree from Franklin & Marshall College at the City University of Seattle and owned and operated the E-Z-C Co. until his retirement.

George was a voracious reader and student of all subject matters including worldwide history, science, religion and the Holy Bible. He was also an avid and passionate lover of all music from Bach to the Beatles, as well as his beloved pet cats and dogs. His books and music collections were his most important possessions. And if you were fortunate enough to know George, you knew what a truly and genuinely kind and thoughtful person he was. He will be missed by his family and friends.

George and I were classmates and good friends starting in Muhlenberg Elementary School in Allentown, PA. Although we lost touch with one another when I moved to VA and later served in the military also, it doesn't surprise me to learn of George's accomplishments. He was always very bright and had many friends. Thank you for your service to your country, George.

Dear Linda,
We were deeply saddened to hear of George's passing. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies. George and I have been lifelong friends since high school. We shared many interests and values, and we even shared the exact same birthdate. May he rest in eternal peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Geroge's passing. Although we lost touch with each other as adults, I can say George was one of my best friends as young kids growing up. Earl Stafford

I was saddened to hear about the recent death of George Hood. He and I grew up together as members of the Ebenezer EUB church in Allentown, PA, and were two of the six members of the church's confirmation class of 1958. George's parents and my parents were good friends and fellow members of the Ebenezer church choir for many years. All are greatly missed. My sincere condolences to George's wife Linda, and to his siblings Bonnie and Carol.
